TSEiC’s Mission:

We are a diverse economic engine that provides financial resources for TRUE social equity enthusiasts, business owners, applicants, and license holders that have been and are currently being affected by the War on Drugs. We bridge the gaps of equity and inclusion between corporate cannabis & the cultural community encouraging equitable/fair/honest collaboration within the cannabis market. Doing this, ensures minority ownership and oversight from the people damaged by the war on social equity, land grabs, incarceration and by attempted devastation of their communities. TSEiC ensures accountability by bringing awareness that activates change and demonstrates intolerance of injustice, through documentation and other creative lenses; thereby continuing to be the sounding board of the people.

Vision

Our vision is to create a landscape of an industry that is founded in Culture, Wellness and Inclusivity. To establish a foundation of resources for startup & operating capital, dissemination of authentic information, and for ensuring oversight of inclusion to True Social Equity organizations pushing progressive cannabis laws for the people, by the people forward. We seek to maintain an industry that has truth, healing and accountability at its helm, that dismantles the stigmas which have plagued our urban and rural communities from cannabis prohibition.

Mission of Weed Tha Ppl:

A group for Cannabis Good Trouble. Making demands for a free market! Pushing policy focused on Legacy too Legal to free the plant and the people still affected by the failed war on drugs, war on social equity, overly regulated market, big pharmaceutical and big tobacco. We call BS, demand the people be heard and given access, by accessible licenses, to the legal market.

Core Pillars:

Financial Stability - Advocacy - Authentic information - Ethics - Transparency

TRUE SOCIAL EQUITY IN CANNABIS!

"True Social Equity Now" Published - Feb 21, 2021

Illinois made $1 Billion in the first year of recreational cannabis sales. Social Equity applicants were promised licenses by spring 2020. Meanwhile, ex-cons have been locked out of the industry. Where is the TRUE social equity? Will Illinois do the right thing? The whole country is watching.

"Illinois Cannabis Essentially Suspends Social Equity" Published - Jan 3, 2021 by Cannabis Legalization News

Illinois is currently making headlines for expunging nearly 500K cannabis arrest records. While this feat cannot be dismissed - where are the new dispensaries? Illinois made nearly $1 billion in cannabis sales in 2020 and as it stands there are no Black-owned dispensaries, cultivators, or cannabis brands in the state.   Corruption and greed have certainly played a role in delaying the licensing process, but how can we move forward when those at the top influence legislation? The team from TRUE Social Equity in Cannabis joins us to provide action steps for those who want to see change in Illinois and advice for those creating social equity programs in other states.
